I Blog, Therefore I Am

Mrs. Scribe & Co.

I'm riffing on Mama Kat's Prompt #3 today: Write about what blogging means to you.

I started blogging because:

I've continued blogging ~ well into my third year ~ because:

I'm pretty sure I'll continue blogging because:

  • I've developed a coterie of blogging buds, who put up with my rants, rambles and my predilection (especially at the start of a new school year) toward failing to respond to their electronic missives imm√©diatement.
  • I've found a photo niche in the blogosphere ~ I've been told that my snaps are not only (sometimes) superior, but that they're downright unusual on occasion.
  • Principal Man and his Merry Band of Idiots will continue to make "good copy," as we used to say in the news biz, for eons to come.
  • I dig the rush of blogging's immediacy. Sounds slightly transcendental as well as egotistical, but it's true!
  • I don't believe I'll ever run out of something to say, however petty, mean, scurrilous, ridiculous or ultimately outrageous.

I wish I could say the same. I don't even know why I do it anymore. So glad that you do.

I think you have a better grasp on your reasons for doing it than most of us. You do a great job and I'm glad you plan to continue.....I've known several people lately who have quit or taken very long breaks.

How awesome that you've got your focus!

I'll be blogging until people don't like me anymore. And then, I'm out. I can annoy my IRL friends and family with my rantings after that. Thought I'd give 'em a break for a couple of years though. I'd like to meet Principal Man, you make him sound so interesting!

I kept shaking my head while reading this, you know the 'nod' of agreement. I could never have expressed it as well as you but I get it and I might not always leave a comment but I too drop by daily! Or at least catch up when I miss a day here or there!!

Tom Stoppard--"Words, words. They're all we have to go on." I'm with you. Words are my life. I love words, I have a lot to say, and I love having a place to say it. Now...the TIME to say it--that's the problem sometimes!

How have I missed the Principal and his merry band of idiots? Need to click back.

Great post btw. Moving into my third year. It has been a slow progression for me.

I'd love to read your opinion on this Michelle Rhee disaster and the ensuing Newark/Zuckerberg endeavor. At my high school here in Florida we're dismayed because no one is discussing the true problem: parenting and lack of it. Our students, raised on video games, stupid TV, and gross (if any) literature will not read, write or think critically. A blog, don't you think?

Not only do you have something to say, but you say it well. I truly enjoy my visits to your blog. You never fail to make me smile and I always leave feeling like I know you just a bit better than the last time I stopped by. I have a feeling if we lived closer to each other we'd be pretty darn good friends!

I love all your reasons - especially the word-aholic one. While I don't have chicas - I know my guys do not read my blog - they avoid it like the stories about the day they were born!

One question, though - how can you blog and NOT be opinionated? I keep thinking that maybe if I express my ideas on my blog, I won't talk so much - LOL!!

Loved your list! You definitely give the blogahood a good name:)

I could copy this post and use it as my own with minor editing to replace your idiot peeps with my idiot peeps. Lately I have been way too busy to blog and I am missing my virtual reality!

we share some of the same reasons for blogging. It was great to get to know a little more about you. Good post.

I could steal most of your list (except for the Principal Man ... I don't have one in my life praise the Lord). I think blogging is insanely addictive and here's to many more years of it!

Jenny the Pirate said...

You and i blog for the SAME REASONS! LOLOLOL absolument, ma cherie!

Jeanie said...

You blog for lots of the same reasons as I do -- and I hope you continue for a long while, for I've only just discovered you. (And as you can tell by the influx of comments, it's been a wacky couple of weeks and I'm just catching up!)
