Hey: Celebrate Good Times, Come On!

All Wet

My 6 Words in today's title are all about being thankful.

Yesterday, Mrs. Scribe & her high school yearbook staff were far from being all wet. In fact, we kept our powder dry & wrapped up production on the 2010 yearbook.

Sorry for the mixed metaphors, but I'm pretty excited. No, we didn't have a "blow out," like the seniors featured here at a recent pep rally & ballon toss~er, splashdown. Instead, I said a silent little prayer to the Yearbook Gods Above as I closed the door to Room 215 & went home to a weekend of grading AP papers.

Oh, and one more reason to be thankful: The school district gave us hard-working teachers back another day, so official dismissal is now June 24. Thank goodness for small things, huh?

"We gonna celebrate & have a good time." Kool & the Gang originally sang that, not I. But you gotta know that Mrs. Scribe concurs, wholeheartedly!

My thought looking at this photo is how good it would be for us adults to have a moment here and there of pure celebratory abandon... I'm coming to the end of a huge painting project next week and i'm gonna think what i can do!

Nothing feels better than putting a publication to bed! (Says the literary mag. advisor...) Congrats. I'll be thinking of you when we get out the Friday before Memorial Day. (But we went back to school in Mid-August, dearie, so we EARNED IT!)

I don't know how you could have taken a better picture! That catches the moment so perfectly, I think.

Congrats on finalizing the Yearbook. I know that was always a big stress for our Yearbook crew. It was all they could talk about until it was time to go to print. But it always came out looking fantastic and I still tote all 4 of mine with me.

Oh June 24...I can't believe you have to go to school that long. But then y'all did have one heck of a winter break! ;) Well...8 last weeks. Good times!

The pic looks like so much fun.. Now I think I'll be singing Kool and the Gang in my head for a minute. I loved that group growing up. I thought the lead singer was so cute even though they were closer to my moms age.

We wrapped up our book the Friday before Easter break, but no big celebration. There just isn't any money this year. I still owe $10K for the book and have no idea how we will pay it. Book sales are way down and the kids sold 10 business cards for advertising. I had one girl buy ONE senior page. That was IT. So, no money. I'm hoping to sell extra books and knock the bill down a little. Now, that would be something to celebrate.
