For the first time in 45 years, the University of Wisconsin-Madison canceled a full day of classes because of a mid-December blizzard. The students' response? Have a massive snowball fight, of course. Some observers pegged the number of fight participants at 3,500, although more than 5,000 had joined a Facebook group to take part.

I love it!!! I was part of a group trying to set a world record for the biggest snowball fight once, but no, it didn't go over like this one. Such spontaneity! (And Facebook sure couldn't hurt!)

That looks like fun. University students playing a kids' game, really must've been cool. But I agree with quilly, I got to watch it in the warmth (and comfort) of my own home.

Did you know that this news story made international news!! I daughter heard about it when she was over in Spain!! She was really sad she couldn't be a part of it:-)
I remember when we had a major snow storm when I was in college. We all "borrowed" lunch trays from the cafeteria and went sledding down the huge hill on campus. Fun times!

I was actually a little sad to be leaving the winter wonderland and going to FL for a couple of days. But fear not, snow was still here when I returned!
