A man was standing inside his house, alone. Naked. A woman strolled by with her son. She was walking the kid to school.
Those facts are not in dispute. But here's where the stories diverge:
Man says he was relaxing in the privacy of his own home. Woman says he was flashing her.
Police showed up, took him down to the station house. The story has gone viral & is making news around the globe, even as we speak. I'm surprised there isn't a YouTube video out there yet.
Man appeared before a local judge yesterday in handcuffs. Told His Honor that one of the arresting cops called him a "pervert."
So, I guess my question is this: When, if ever, is it appropriate to hang out in your own home?

well...if you're gonna wear the birthday suit around the house at least have the blinds down!!
Yo -- my house. I wear what I please. Don't come looking in my windows! MY windows.
That said, if the guy was standing in his window naked, that's more than a little obnoxious. When we moved into this house I went out into the street and looked into my windows from several different angles at several different times of the day and night. At night I need to make certain I am fully dressed. During the day, if I stay well back from my windows I can streak through the house if I wish.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that nakedness in yoru own home is perfectly acceptable. You can't legislate clothes on my butt when i'm in private.
That said, good closed opaque curtains are probably a good call if you're going to let it all hang out.
Hmmm...interesting thought...
They were talking about this on Elliot the other morning. All I can think about is Naked Guy on Friends.
We have been talking about this! I can't believe it was right by your house! All I can think - every time I hear the story - is that there has to be more to it.
That being said, I think he sure as heck has the right to be naked in his own house. Perhaps he should be more mindful of window coverings. Perhaps she shouldn't be looking in people's windows. That's what I take from what I've heard. But, like I said, I would not be even a teensy bit surprised to hear that what I heard is not the whole story...
Seems to me the lady looked too hard..she's the pervert if anyone is. If he was standing in the window hoping to be seen dfferent story,
poor guy
'hang out' in your home?? bwahaha!
if he was walking around his house, with open drapes/curtains, he should have taken better precautions, but if the neighbor was being too observant could there be counter 'peeping tom-ette' charges filed against her?
I make sure the windows are covered when I am unclothed. I don't want anyone to have their eyes burned out LOL LOL ♥
Let it all hang out whenever you want...just behind closed doors...or closed and blinded windows. Hello??? Common sense here people!
I'm with everyone else on this one. It would be prudent to make sure the blinds/curtains are closed if you're wearing your birthday suit.
Hmmm... I think he should be free to hang out in the privacy of his own home.
BUT
When does what's private in our homes become a public nuisance?
If he had a swastika in his front window? Would that be okay?
I guess I kinda agree that the lady should have just kept walking.
When I'm president , this shall be one of the first issues I tackle!
well, sounds to me his hanging out was hanging round, door opened, not a good idea, other than that, why was she peeping?
a coin toss here.
BIG HUGS
Bess says hi
wear whatever you want, just don't let me see it if you go 'birtday suiting,' well hung or not! :)
Give me nudity or give me death.
hmmmm.....this also is an issue with the tv screens in cars. I remember a case a few years ago when a woman sued a guy who was driving down the street at night while some people in the backseat watched porn. It was his own car and he wasn't even watching it...but still.
I don't know where the line is. I am pretty careful with the curtains but that is because I CHOOSE not to show my body to others, not because I am particularly concerned with THEIR well-being. (Does that make me selfish??)
I loved 'Hawaii Five 0'!
I am in big trouble I have a tendency to umm. well, walk around naked and if you read my last Thursday post, well, heck my landscapers could have had me arrested I guess.
No common sense in this world!
If he wasn't holding up a sign with an arrow pointing to the "jewels", or otherwise drawing attention to himself, then he should be able to walk inside his own home nekkid if he chooses.
That lady needs to stop snooping in windows!
Me thinks we are making a mountain out of a mole hill. OTOH, if I had a little daughter I'd probably be paranoid about perverts too.
Oh yes, I was just watching this on the news tonight. If he wants to be naked in his house, that's fine. But, he's gonna have to draw the shades, I guess.
01) Curtains are made for a purpose, he needs to be sure to keep them closed until dressed. That's the way it's done here, for sure.
02) If I recall correctly, the woman was cutting through HIS yard. Far's Im concerned, b!tch needs to be slapped with a trespassing charge as well.
It depends; what did he look like....? ;O) But seriously, naked in your own home, yes, scratching your butt whilst looking out at the gardenias? Fail.
I'd have thought a warning from the police though, rather than hauling his naked bahookie to jail....
Naked in your house is totally fine. Even if you live in a glass house - sans rocks. Maybe that woman shouldnt have been looking in other people's windows.
Im sure I accidentally flash my neighbors daily. I hope none of them call the cops
Gosh, was he standing in a picture window, waving?
Was she peeking in through the curtains?
Weird one.
Why didn't the woman just turn her head and keep going ? I wonder if it was good naked or bad naked. :) What will a judge do, order him to close his drapes for life ?
