Why Do We Blog? Part 2

Last week, Your Intrepid Scribe asked the Bloggy Multitudes out there One. Simple. Question. Why Do You Blog?

Let's just say we received a Multitude of Answers. And Quasi-Answers. And just plain Non-Answers. Which is all OK, 'cause that's Why We Blog!

Mrs. Scribe blogs to Get Out There. To Get Noticed. To Hear Different Points-of-View. In a delusional sort of cyber-way, to introduce herself to folks. And to know that, deep down inside, there doesn't have to be an ending to All This Janx. We can just go on. And on.

It's no secret that one finds one's "voice" by writing. And that writing daily makes the search that much easier. So what is the harm, then, when you're on a Quest anyway, if you pick up a few "friends" along the way?

Take Tara, for instance. We never would have met Tara in our line of work. She's clearly not in high school, and although she's a wonderful writer, we don't think she'd care too much for the confines of Our Humble High School's Journalism Suite. But we...Mrs. Scribe & Tara...have struck up a recent Bloggy Comaraderie. We make Grand Pronouncements, and Tara tap-tap-taps in response. Tara, who resides over at Cupcakes for Dinner (yummy!), uses words like "hulabaloo,"& posts Photos of Cute Children in Santa Hats, & Mrs. Scribe Beams Her Bloggy Approval Tara's way.

So, it was with great joy & tremendous satisfaction that we read the following over at Tara's Place last week. In presenting Your Humble Scribe with The Official Ninjie Award, Tara said, and we quote: "This lady is the teacher you wish you had who wasn't a jerk. She teaches Journalism and is also (duh, of course!) a writer. Her blog teaches me new words that I only ever understood in context and would drop in conversations where I was trying to sound intelligent."

Tara, you're a dear. And we Thank You from the depths of our pea-pickin' heart! In keeping with the Rules & All, we'd like to award this Bling in Super-Stealthy Ninja Style. So, if you can read type this small, you are Certainly eligible to receive this token of our affection. We hereby present The Official Ninjie Award to Koe Whitton-Williams, Tara R., Columbia Lily, Mr. Teacher AND Eudea-Mamia.

That's Why We Blog. For a Multitude of Reasons. With No End In Sight.

Oh wow!! Thanks - what a great surprise to welcome me home from the beat-down that was running errands with the Youngest.

This little beaut plus a glass of wine, and I'll be right as rain.

Really - thanks!

And here's to finding my voice!!

Come January, it's got to be in here somewhere - striking out to get "paper" published, somewhere.

I must have missed the post asking the question of Why I Blog ... but I have 'addressed' this issue several times on my various sites and the link will take you to one post if you're interested in my reasons. Congratulations to the winner ... and to all of us who enjoy this virtual world for our own reasons.
