All Politics is Pink this Month

Veggie Mom posted about this Great Snap last week, and we over at The Scholastic Scribe wanted to emphasize how important the Month of October is. First Lady Laura Bush even Turned the White House Pink last week in commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

One of our Dear Friends and Neighbors lost her valiant struggle against Breast Cancer the day after Mother's Day in 2007. Two colleagues at Our Humble High School succumbed in the last couple of years. In fact, 5 women with whom we work are currently living with--and fighting against--this disease, which is the Number One Killer of Women in the United States.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists focusing on the Breast Cancer Fight. It's based in Our Neck of the Woods, and does so much to push for a Cure. Please visit their site to learn more. Thanks!

An Editorial Note from Your Humble Scribe: Because of the SITS Blogathon, scheduled for mañana, Our 4th Dynamic Interview with Hot Tub Lizzy of The Plaid Party will run on Wednesday. We apologize to One & All for any discomfort or inconvenience this might cause. Just Remember: Lizzy's Running for President, & YOU can make a difference November 4th!

I love the picture! It's quite possibly the nicest thing I have ever said about a member of the Bush family.

Also, anytime I see pink ribbons or really anything related to breast cancer awareness, I always think of Mrs. J.
